Records that have stood for over 100 years could be broken tonight.
A freeze is possible in several locations to the north and west of DFW tonight. Below are some locations that could see a freeze early tomorrow morning.
This would be the latest freeze ever recorded in these locations. Note how old these records are!

Would you go into Space?
I ran across this youtube video the other day about an astronaut showing what happens when you wring out a wet washcloth in space! Very cool. I don't know if I would go to space now that I have kids and a family, but as a kid I would go in a heartbeat.

Strong Cold Front Coming for North Texas
This is going to be quite a cold front for April. I expect showers and thunderstorms to break out with the approach of the front late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The timing of the worst storms for DFW will be between 1am and 6am. Some of the storms may produce hail and strong winds.
Behind the front, rain and storms will linger Wednesday morning, but it turns cold. Temperatures Wednesday morning will be in the 30s and 40s!
You can read more about the storm threat here on the CBS 11 STORM TEAM BLOG.

FREEZE FACTS FOR DFW
25 freezes so far at DFW this winter season. We average 33 in a winter.
It is colder than last year though. Last year we only had 17 freezes at DFW.
Here's the breakdown of freezes by month with the average number of freezes in parenthesis.
The average is not a whole number because it is averaged off a 30 year record from 1981 to 2010.
0 freezes in November (average is 2.3)
12 freezes in December (average is 9.7)
9 freezes in January (average is 12.1)
4 freezes in February (average is 6.8)
We will probably see a freeze tonight at DFW giving us one for the month of March. On average we only see 2 freezes in the month of March. The average date of the last freeze is March 13th!
Don't plant anything yet. I look for a possible freeze sometime around the 7th to 10th of this month. ~Larry
