100 Degree Days in Texas

I spent several hours today compiling 100 degree stats from various cities around Texas.  It's not easy to get these official numbers.  You have to go to each National Weather Service website for each area in Texas.  Then you have to dig thru the climate pages.  In some cases, you have to go day by day and count the number of 100 degree days.  It was quite the task.  I posted the results on our CBS 11 STORM TEAM BLOG.  I am really proud of that blog.  Myself and the CBS 11 Storm Team really spend a great deal of time updating it.  I hope it becomes a well know vehicle to get weather information out to North Texas.  I also am pretty aware that all my hard work will probably be copied by other stations.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the information I collected turn up on other stations soon.  That's the way it goes.  But I am very proud that I was the first to show the information to North Texas.  Here are the numbers as of Sept. 28, 2011.

On the Big, Big Screen!

Jeff Burkett took this picture of me on the world's largest HD TV at Cowboys Stadium.  It is so cool that I get to give the forecast before the Dallas Cowboy's game.  We tape this a few hours before it runs.  I have never seen it in person as I have yet to attend a Cowboy's game.  They say TV adds 10 pounds, I wonder if this TV adds 100?
